5. Sand and smooth the surface.

Prior to installation, please follow these guidelines for dealing with diverse wall types/textures:
PAINTED SURFACE
Dish soap and water or a similar solution should be used, followed by a thorough rinsing. Get rid of any sanding residue. In order to get a smooth surface, large holes should be filled, dried, and then sanded until they are smooth.
CONCRETE AND PLASTERED SURFACES
Plaster the entire wall after filling in any holes or imperfections. Make sure to sand and smooth the wall once the spackle has dries before applying primer. Before you begin wallpapering, you must first apply glue to the wall and allow it to cure.
PLASTERBOARD, CHIPBOARD AND WOOD FIBER BOARDS
Fill up any holes left by screws and nails with caulk. Spackle and jointing tape should be used to fill in the gaps. Primer/sealer is used to sand and smooth the wall before painting it. Before wallpapering, chipboards should be sprayed with alkyd primer/sealer to prevent the joints from shifting.
PREVIOUSLY WALLPAPERED SURFACE
Remove all loose wallpaper off the wall. Peelable or removable wallpapers allow you to remove the top layer for easy cleaning. To remove the initial layer, you must first plaster the entire wall and sand.
PAINTED FIBERGLASS FABRIC
To clean the surface, use dish soap and water, and then follow up with a thorough water rinse. Once the spackle has dried, sand, smooth and seal the wall with primer/sealer before moving on to the next step.
TEXTILE/FABRIC WALLPAPER LIKE SEAWEED/GRASSCLOTH OR SIMILAR
The wall must be cleared of all clutter. Remove wallpaper with a wallpaper remover if the task is too difficult. Apply a primer/sealer to the wall before spackling it.
